Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) are the single entry point for suppliers to the Rail industry.

The scheme was developed to provide a route to qualification for suppliers of products and services procured by the rail industry with the aim of becoming the preferred route for suppliers to engage with their customers in an efficient and effective manner.

The scheme is governed by the RISQS board which comprises of Industry Leaders - Network Rail, CECA, TFL, Arup, RIA, RICA, RPA, Telent, Go-Ahead Group, RSSB, Balfour Beatty Rail, First Group, Tata Steel, Siemens, ATOC, Costain, Atkins Global, C Spencer Ltd, Rail Alliance and BAM Nuttall.

As a Qualified Member of RISQS, Ambitek has demonstrated compliance against both the industry wide assurance requirements as set out by RISQS Board. Suppliers are led towards improving their processes as RISQS regularly assesses how you manage key elements of delivery such as safety and quality.

The Gangmasters Licensing Authority works in partnership to protect vulnerable and exploited workers.

Labour providers are assessed to check they meet the GLA licensing standards which cover health and safety, accommodation, pay, transport and training. They are checked to ensure they are fit to hold a licence and that Tax, National Insurance and VAT regulations are met.

A labour provider must have a GLA licence to work in the regulated sectors, it is a criminal offence to supply workers without a licence or use an unlicensed labour provider.

Irlam FC started out as Mitchell Shackleton Football Club in October 1969 and was founded by a group of employees working for Mitchell, Shackleton and Company Limited, a well established engineering company based in Patricroft, Eccles, which manufactured marine and diesel crankshafts. The Club has a proud history and can be traced as far back as 1935.

A major change at the Club occurred in 2003. A visit from Brian McClair's FA Youth Cup Winning Manchester United Under 19’s Team, officially opened the new Club ground at Silver Street, Irlam.

During the last 3 years Ambitek has been a strong supporter of Irlam FC watching them go from strength to strength. The 2015/16 Season saw Irlam FC get promoted to the North West Counties Premier Division and in readiness for the 2016/2017 season. We are extremely proud to be part of their wonderful history by furthering our support and having the Silver Street Ground renamed “THE AMBITEK STADIUM”, the new home of Irlam FC.
